Spotlight: Bangkok (กรุงเทพมหานคร)

Spotlight Since launching, we’ve seen Instagram spread from our headquarters in the Bay Area to every corner of the globe. In this series we’ll highlight top users from countries and cities with thriving Instagram communities.

In 2012, Bangkok, Thailand, proved to be one of Instagram’s most photographed cities. More photos were shared at Suvarnabhumi Airport than anywhere else in the world!

With such a vibrant Instagram community, how could we not do a Bangkok spotlight? To get a local’s perspective of Bangkok, be sure to follow these Instagrammers:

  • Athipan Wongsuebyut, graphic designer with a keen eye for patterns and close ups — @awnoom
  • Diawdd Pongsakorn, black and white photographer — @diawdd
  • @woody_chai, urban movement and architecture — @woody_chai
  • Zcongklod Bangyikhan, magazine editor-in-chief and cycling enthusiast — @zcongklod

Bamboo Activated Charcoal Soap
No fancy-schmancy smells or cheap ingredients. Just manly soap with activated charcoal that acts like a magnet in the presence of toxins. Meaning it’s great to scrub your face—as well as your body, with this bad boy.

ROK Espresso Maker
You know that coffee maker you have in your kitchen? It’s time to replace that. This no nonsense, no electricity espresso maker makes a damn good cup of Joe each morning while looking impossibly awesome.

Letterpress Ribbon Thank You Card
A wise man once said (someone on Twitter, our best guess is Adam Rapoport of Bon Appétit magazine) ”If you can delete it, it doesn’t count as a thank you card.” and we couldn’t agree more. Skip the emails, pull out the pen and write out a thank you card. It will go mean a million and a half times more. These Letterpress Ribbon Thank You Cards are a well-designed look at a fair price.

Vintage Pepsi Crate
We hate soda, but love this. Back before they were blue and red, Pepsi was yellow and blue and these crates would have contained a case of soda bottles which you returned to the grocery store when empty and received a deposit that you had paid when you purchased the bottles and the crated case of soda. It’s a great classic piece to have in your home. We suggest setting in on your coffee table to keep things like coasters and remote controls in one organized place. Good looks…good looks.
